Currently, most issuing banks operate with additional authentication of the customer according to the protocol version 3-D Secure 1.0 for all types of cards.

For a more reliable authentication process, issuing banks and payment systems are switching to a new version of protocol 2.0 and higher for all types of cards (VISA, Mastercard).

The benefits of the new protocol are:

more reliable user authentication;

reliable authentication without additional user interaction (entering a one-time password), that increases conversion;
